GarTech designs and builds several different engine simulators to facilitate bench top engine control system hardware and software testing. These simulators are designed to connect to engine ECM’s (Electronic Control Module) and provide sensor outputs to the ECM without using an actual sensor. Most load box outputs are “open loop”, which means the user has complete control over setting the sensor output values. We do offer closed loop engine speed control, however. In this mode, the engine speed signal generated by the load box responds similarly to an actual engine (including start, stop, and throttle response). If your special testing needs require features other than those found in our standard products, please contact us discuss a custom design.

LUIS (Load box User Interface System)

LUIS configuration files may be created to set up I/O for specific tests
Multiple boxes may be controlled by single PC application for seamless integration testing of single engine systems with multiple ECM’s
LUIS accepts CAN commands using the J1939 proprietary PGN (specification available)
