Available in 30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 IO pin versions, the FMET System allows shorting of any IO pin to any other IO pin, including one of 4 common "Rails", (reference the schematic block diagram below for further information on the short/open capabilities). Each IO pin is capable of 15A continuous current.
The FMET box is PC controlled using J1939 commands, and requires an independent 12v power supply (to prevent loss of control during shorts to power/ground). If the programmable current limit is exceeded on any single IO pin, the box will automatically remove any shorted circuit affecting the offending pin. Users can establish rules in the configuration to prevent any unwanted shorting conditions, (ie. do not allow keyswitch to be shorted to ground).
